Alpha

CBMC Belfast and the Young Professionals Group are committed to encouraging people to think about faith. For many years we have either facilitated an Alpha course. If you would like to know more please contact Austin McCracken.

Alpha

Do you ever ponder the meaning of life?

Alpha

Do you believe in God?

Alpha

Are you confused by religion?

Alpha

Have you ever thought about how God could be relevant to your life?

If any of the above strikes a chord then the Alpha course is for you, the course is open to anyone wishing to explore what Christianity is all about.

During the Alpha course we take a journey into the meaning of life. We believe Alpha will bless you, challenge you, inform you and equip you for life’s ups and downs.

Who is Alpha for?

People attend Alpha for various reasons - some want to investigate whether God exists, others are concerned about what happens after death. Some people have particular questions they would like answered; others want to understand other peoples' beliefs or would like to explore what the purpose of life is. Many have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. If this is you then come, relax, eat, share your thoughts and explore the meaning of life with us.

How Alpha works

Alpha courses are based around small groups, led by hosts whose role is to facilitate and encourage discussion. As well as the ten week course, we also plan to have a day away in the middle of the course. Each session begins with a meal, then a short talk looking at a different aspect of the Christian faith each week. This is followed by a time of discussion, when guests can ask questions and contribute their opinions. If you would like any further information please contact Austin McCracken.
